Magic City Fashion Week
THE INSPIRING FASHION WEEK WILL OFFER GREAT OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE DESIGNERS TO SHOWCASE THEIR TALENT WITH THE WORLD
Birmingham, Alabama, US - August 1, 2017: Magic City Fashion Week has been announced to take place in the fall of 2017 in Birmingham. The mega event will feature several great designers and artists and it will provide a platform for local artists, especially the fashion designers with the ultimate opportunity to display their talent for the world. The event has been organized by Daniel K. Grier and Derek DeAndre, the Co-Founders of Splashed by DKG, a luxury Streetwear brand.
“Our Magic City Fashion Week will light up the week leading up to The Magic City Classic and an overwhelming number of people will be attending both events this fall.” He added. Daniel and Derek, both Birmingham natives say that "the event will also play a major role in raising awareness against HIV/AIDS. Stigma is so last season," said Daniel Grier while talking about the event.
Magic City Fashion Week will run in tandem with the largest city-sponsored event, The Magic City Classic. With HIV rates rising in the city of Birmingham, specifically in the African American community, the MCC is the perfect time to hold a fashion week in support of Birmingham AIDS Outreach. The MCC is the largest HBCU football game in the country drawing crowds of over 70,000 people to the city of Birmingham. "What better time to spread the word about awareness than when you have the target audience flooding the city?" Says Derek DeAndre.
